Education: B.S. Physical Education, Plymouth State College
My career has spanned twenty-one years in a variety of grade levels and places. I have taught in Vermont, Maine, Venezuela, and Egypt in grades kindergarten through twelve. I believe children should learn to enjoy physical activity through a variety of experiences. By offering a broad spectrum of activities in physical education class they have the opportunity to practice skills and explore what they enjoy doing. Hopefully they will carry that enjoyment into their adult life. Students in grades K-6 receive developmentally appropriate lessons (35 minutes, two times a week). Below are examples of some of the skills students practice in physical education classes.
Throwing
Catching
Kicking
Striking
Rolling
Locomotives
Dance
Movement Exploration
Team Games
Dodging
Tagging
Team- Building Activities
Have some fun and ask your child to share some activities with you !
