Amy Hamblett
Special Educator
I am thrilled to have joined the teaching staff at Chester-Andover! Teaching is a second career for me; this is my first teaching position and I am enjoying it immensely!
I have a B.S. in Nutrition from UVM, and an M.Ed. in Health Education from Plymouth State University. I worked as a clinical dietitian and then nutrition manager at a teaching hospital in New Hampshire for about 16 years. In 2000 my family moved to Vermont and I made the decision to stay home with my young children. When my younger child went to school I began to substitute teach, working primarily with special education students. Before long I realized I had found a second career that would both challenge and energize me. I went back to school and earned an MAED in Special Education from the University of Phoenix, completing my student teaching at Flood Brook last spring. I work with third and fourth graders and love the team of teachers with whom I work.
I live in Weston with my husband Malcolm and our children, Ben (14) and Rebekah ( 11). In my spare time I love to play my flute, scrapbook, read, travel, ski and walk.
