Creating 21st Century Classrooms: WSWSU Dots Independent Study Wiki
For those who wish to explore the topics covered in the VTCite Creating 21st Century Classrooms: Connecting the Dots II course, a wiki has been set up to guide you through the readings and assignments. There were 5 modules in the original course. The purpose of this online "course" is to either review or learn how to "transform" your classroom into a 21st Century Classroom.

Creating 21st Century Classrooms: WSWSU Connecting the Dots
Module 1
Developing Standards-Based Curriculum using UbD
Original Instructors: Sigrid Lumbra, Lindy Johnson, Gail Hall (Vermont Dept. of Education)
Great units require great planning, great teaching, and rich content. In this module, you will learn the "backward design" process of Understanding by Design (developed by Grant Wiggins and Jay McTighe) to begin designing or modifying a curriculum unit. The primary outcome of this module will enable you to define the enduring understandings, the essential questions, and content standards that will be assessed in your unit. You will be able to articulate what students will understand, know, and be able to do as a result of the unit of study you intend to create. Whereas you will learn about all three stages of UbD in this module, these "stage one" procedures will be your primary focus.
