Greetings!

This is my first year teaching at Chester/Andover Elementary and I am so happy to be a member of the school community and the community at large. Chester is a great town in a great state.

I was born and brought up in Boston, and I have spent about half of my life living in and around the Boston area, working in various construction trades and property management.  While living and working in Boston, I earned a Bachelor Degree in Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts.  My first degree is a reflection of my passion for learning that I have carried throughout my life.

In addition to living in Boston, I have also spent a number of years living in the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire.  Recently, I changed the course of my life when I decided that I would finally fulfill a long time dream of becoming a teacher; In order to accomplish this dream I completed a Master program at Antioch University in Keene, NH.

As an educator, I believe children need to explore their interests and have opportunities to express themselves in their education through the use of various media.  I am looking forward to having a great year of exploration and learning, and I hope that all of my students will join with me to discover new and exciting aspects of their educational journey.

I am also a firm believer in parent cooperation and communication so please contact me if you have questions, comments, or ideas; I can be reached by phone at 875-2108 ext.113 or by email at: pmartorano@wswsu.org
