Lynn Behrendt
I grew up in Long Island, New York and received by B.S. in Education at Bowling Green State University in Ohio.  I moved to Vermont in the early seventies and it didn’t take long for me to feel at home in my adopted state.

I live in an old farmhouse in Windham with my husband and 19-year old, son, Michael, who currently attends GMUHS.  Our older son, Chris, has recently moved to Los Angeles, giving his parents an excuse to travel to the west coast more often!

I’ve worked with CAES students in various capacities over the years, both personally and professionally.  Personally I have been a 4H and Girl Scout Leader, soccer coach, and a volunteer reading mentor.  As a CAES employee I’ve joined your children on down hill and cross country skis, snow tubing, and swimming during the winter program.  In addition to those activities, a few different years I’ve joined the students at Camp Keewaydin for a week long environmental experience. Throughout the year, I’ve supervised Homework Club every Tuesday and Thursday after school.  During regular school hours you’ll find me all over the building working as a Special Education Assistant and enjoying the diversity of the many classrooms and their wonderful students.  I feel fortunate to work with such a great group of children and adults throughout the years here at CAES.

Rena Gordon
Hi, I am Rena Gordon and this is my second year at CAES. I graduated from Tri-County Technical College in Clemson, SC. I recently moved to Vermont from South Carolina and feel very welcomed at CAES. I love working with energetic kindergartners! Every day I try to help a child learn something new, make someone smile and challenge myself. I love to be outside, walk on a sandy beach, play softball or vollyball, or enjoy the company of my two dogs and new kitten.

Laurie Scott
My name is Laurie. I have lived all my life in the Springfield and Chester Communities. My husband of 33 years and I have 3 children and 3 grandsons. I have worked in the Springfield and Chester Schools for over 11 years. Most of the 11 years have been in Special Ed. as an individual aide. This year brings me way back. I went from sixth grade last year, to the world of kindergarten this year. A place I could never picture myself at but, love immensely. It's great to be a part of the team here at C.A.E.S.
