Nicole DeTore
Director of Student Services/Guidance

Hi, I’m Nicole DeTore and I joined the CAES team as School Counselor in 2007. I hold a Master’s of Education in School Counseling from Keene State College. Prior to graduate school I attended Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY where I received a B.S. in Television-Radio with a concentration in Advertising and Public Relations, and a minor in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal and Juvenile Justice Studies.

At CAES I teach classroom guidance lessons around such topics as recognizing the feelings of others, accepting differences, impulse control and problem-solving. I also offer individual and group counseling services for students. I enjoy collaborating with community members and agencies to provide educational programs for students and parents. I believe in providing an educational climate where each student is challenged to grow as a critical thinker and an empathic member of society.

In my free time I enjoy traveling, reading and playing softball and volleyball in area leagues.

I was born in Boston and raised in Bridgewater, MA.  My husband and I have been married for over 20 years and have traveled all over.  We have lived in Massachusetts, Colorado and Germany.  We have two children and three grandchildren.  A very full life.

Our family moved from Germany to Chester in 1999 and ran the Quail Hollow Inn for 7 years.  This was a great adventure for us.  We sold the inn in 2006 and have enjoyed our weekends ever since.

My husband and I love the outdoors and try to take advantage of the wonderful New England days.

Office Professional

I began working at Chester-Andover in 2001.  I am also a graduate of CAES and Green Mountain Union High School.  For the first four years I was a secretary in the Special Education Department.  I now work in the Main Office as the Administrative Assistant to the Principal as well as Testing Coordinator.

I lived and worked in Boston for a group of eye surgeons for 4 years and then worked for 8 years as a legal assistant in Boston’s oldest law firm.

After giving birth to twin boys my husband and I decided to return to Chester to raise our family.  My sons Chad and Elliot are now 16 years old and attend school at GM.
Aside from spending time with my family, I enjoy cooking, hiking, biking, camping, and decorating my home.
