I joined the CAES staff in 2001 after having served one year as a Principal in Brattleboro, Vermont.  I have taught students in preschool through 4th grade and provided Title I services to 1st through 6th grade students.  I have also worked extensively with Special Needs students in alternative settings and programs.

I received my BA in Psychology and Anthropology from Florida State University, my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Antioch, and have done advanced graduate studies in Educational Administration from UVM and Keene State College.

My careers prior to becoming a professional educator include six years in corporate management in Florida and Massachusetts, several years as an Employee Assistance Counselor in Brattleboro, Vermont and as a Librarian in Newfane, Vermont.

My husband Larry and I live in North Springfield, VT.  We have two adult sons, one lives in Burlington, VT while the other is attending college in Massachusetts.

My leisure time interests include reading, camping, gardening, bookmaking, knitting, contemporary folk music and putting together jigsaw puzzles.

Jason Morse
Assistant Principal

I am excited to be a part of the learning community at Chester-Andover Elementary School.  I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and have since lived in Minnesota, Oregon, and Colorado.  I received a Bachelors degree from Michigan State University in wildlife biology.  I finished my elementary coursework at Bemidji State University in northern Minnesota, and obtained a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Castleton State College and the Woodruff Institute for School Leaders.

I live in Londonderry with my wife, Rebecca (also an educator), our son, Sam, and our vizsla, Sasha.

Before entering into education I had an eclectic assortment of jobs including wildland firefighting in 10 states, canoe outfitting, wilderness trail maintenance, zamboni driving, and as an activities director in a nursing home.  I bring all of these life experiences with me to CAES.

Philosophically, I believe in educating the whole child.  Social development is critical as students gain problem-solving and critical thinking skills and empathy for others.  Students will need to work together with other cultures in a more global society.

My hobbies include hiking, camping, running, landscaping, home improvement, and playing board games.

Nicole DeTore
Director of Student Services/Guidance

Hi, I’m Nicole DeTore and I am excited to be joining the CAES team as School Counselor! I hold a master’s of Education in School Counseling from Keene State College. Prior to graduate school I attended Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY where I received a B.S. in Television-Radio with a concentration in Advertising and Public Relations, and a minor in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal and Juvenile Justice Studies. During my school counseling internships at Monadnock Regional Middle School (in Swanzey, NH) and Putney Central School, I gained extensive experience in delivering classroom guidance and providing individual and group counseling for students. I also enjoy collaborating with community members and agencies to provide educational programs for students and parents. I believe in providing an educational climate where each student is challenged to grow as a critical thinker and a compassionate individual.

I currently reside in Charltestown, NH. In my free time I love to travel, read and play softball and volleyball in area leagues.

I have been at Chester-Andover for over a year.  What a great place to work.

I was born in Boston and raised in Bridgewater, MA.  My husband and I have been married for over 20 years and have traveled all over.  We have lived in Massachusetts, Colorado and Germany.  We have two children and three grandchildren.  A very full life.

Our family moved from Germany to Chester in 1999 and ran the Quail Hollow Inn for 7 years.  This was a great adventure for us.  We sold the inn in 2006 and have enjoyed our weekends ever since.

My husband and I love the outdoors and try to take advantage of the wonderful New England days.   My hobbies are painting, crocheting and family.

I began working at Chester-Andover Elementary School (CAES) in 2001.  I also happen to be a graduate of CAES and Green Mountain Union High School.  This is my seventh year at CAES.  For the first four years I was a secretary in the Special Education Department.  I now work in the Main Office as the Administrative Assistant to the Principal and Vice-Principal.

Post high school I attended Apollo School in Phoenix, AZ where I earned a certificate in the Medical Secretary program.  My first medical job was as an assistant for Dr. James Cahill in Springfield, VT.  After working several years in VT, I moved to Boston where I worked at Retina Associates (a group of eye surgeons).  I then transitioned out of the medical field into legal and worked for 8 years as a legal assistant in Boston’s oldest law firm.

After giving birth to twin boys my husband and I decided to return to Chester to raise our family.  My sons Chad and Elliot are now 12 years old.
Aside from spending time with my family, I enjoy cooking, hiking, biking, camping, and decorating my home.
